    The Milestones – updated

    Saturday, March 31st, 2007

1.000, 2.000, 3.000…The kilometers keep clicking and the other day I passed the 15.000 km marker. It’s a good feeling to pass another x-thousand km marker and I usually have a small “one-man party” on the road every time it happens.

This is what it looks like…

Scooter ride in NE Thailand (yet again!)

    Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Just a quick note. I left Chiang Mai this morning (28MAR07) and have been riding all day, 390 km on a wonderful Honda Dream 125 ccm scooter. She’s mine for 3 days. Am exploring the northern far east corner of Thailand that I’ve quickly fallen in love with. Just arrived in Nan, a little provincial town (55.000 inhabitants) close to the mountains that I’m about to cruise as soon as the sun rises…

    Vietnam – a photo journal (part 1+2)

    Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Cycling through Vietnam during the last 2 months has given me hundreds of unforgettable memories, from the hustle & bustle of Saigon, the resort life of Mui Ne, the waterfalls and highlands of Dalat, the romance of Hoi An (where was MY girl?), the rural beauty of the country side, the many different hill tribe faces and laces, the headwind on Hwy 1, the fascinating Halong Bay, the tribal exotism of the North Western corner, the scooter trip, the wonderful gastronomic input, the charms of Hanois Old Quarter, to the in-your-face-attitude of the locals.

Vietnam is an intense experience and this I´ve tried to capture visually.

Last week in Phonsavanh I ran into this great guy, Ben from New York. I met up with him again here in Louang Prabang and we went to see a waterfall, the Khouang Xi Falls, the other day. As travelling alone doesn’t necessarily bring lots of photos of me, here’s a few taken by Ben, in the odd case you happened to be interested…

    Distance (km) : 78
    Time on bike : 4h 08m
    Brutto time: 9.35 – 15.00
    Avg : 18.88 km/h
    Total (km) : 14512

    156 – Mew (Dynamiske temposkift)
This Mess We’re In – Thom Yorke & PJ Harvey (prominent duo)
Welcome to the Jungle – Guns ‘n Roses (Passede perfekt til dagens downhill)

    From the saddle...
