    Woman near Malang selling food.

The English teachers that invited me in for a Sprite and the night. Near Lumajang, Eastern Java.

In your country, how much to buy a house?” Fordi kommunikationsniveauet – de flestes engelsk rækker ikke længere end til How are you, mister?

    Foodstall through my fingers...Lumajang, Java.

    Iced desert in Lumajang...

Dagens Tone: Morning Dance – Spyro Gyro

500th WT Day Just Around the Corner

    Monday, August 20th, 2007

It’s been a very long day at the office here in Malang that has the best @-cnx since Singapore. I’ve taken advantage of that.

Unfortunately, for the non-Danish speaking people you won’t really notice that I spent more than 11 hours in the cyber café today since it’s all in Danish. The photos are uploaded and sort of ready to put in the diary but enough is enough. Am tired. Must eat. Must sleep.

I will probably be celebrating the 500th WT day on top of or near the active volcano Mt. Bromo the day after tomorrow.

Don’t forget to send me a little thought from wherever you are. I’ll do likewise. Promise!

A Sundanese Wedding and a Javanese Map

    Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Internet is very inefficient and slow here in Indonesia (am i repeating myself?) and I know I’ve been all too quite these last 3 weeks. I’m trying to get my @-tongue back in business. Meanwhile, have a look at the Java map. My route so far: Jakarta, Bogor, Puncak Pass (1450 mas.), Bandung (with daytrips to Tangkuban Parahu Volcano and Kawah Putih volcano lake), Cipanas (near Garut), Papandayan Volcano, Tasikmalaya, Galunggung Volcano, Cipatujah (experiencing that horrible 7.5 magnitude earthqueke!), Pangandaran (after having crashed a Sundanese wedding along the way, dancing (I was forced!) on stage with 200 gazing guests), Gombong, Yogyakarta (bagged Borobudur today)…and the party goes on!

    Volcano hunting in Western Java…

    Sunday, August 5th, 2007

Just a quickie to make sure that I’m still very fine, in good health and spirit and all that jazz.

I arrived in Bandung, the 4th biggest city in Indonesia 3 days ago after 2 nights in Bogor south of Jakarta.

This area – like the rest of Java – is packed with volcanoes, bubbling and steaming geysers, mud pools etc. and I’ve been busy hunting them for the last few days. It sure has been a fantastic adventure! The people (and even the ubiquitous Hello, mister!), the food, the amazing scenery, the weather, it’s all super.

I’ll post photos and text bites as soon as I can. The @-cafe scene is not very developed here in Indonesia and the connection is slow.

But hang on, I will get back to you…always :-)
