Day 635 – A Full-On Sightseeing Day
During break fast, I make a small plan for the day and tries to get a grasp of the city (3.8 mio. Citizens) before Rhod and I bike into the city along Yarra River. There sky is clear and there is 35 degrees C – Pretty nice for 3rd of January!
I’m really excited about being in Melbourne, extremely proud and grateful at the same time. Rhod jumps out of the lycra in his best bib and tucker and heads off to work, where he works for the mayor and takes part in writing speeches, letters etc.
I tour around the city all day, taking more pictures than any Japanese has ever taken in one day. At the mail office, there is a bag of delayed Christmas presents for me, which I were passed on the me from the mail office in Adelaide. It is beautiful and moving for me to sit there in the summer heat of Melbourne and open Danish Christmas presents. Thank you very much (again) to all the people involved for the gesture. You have assured that my depot of liquorice, which is sometimes strained, will not run out for some time.
Sightseeing i en storby som Melbourne er ideelt på cyklen. Intenst, kompakt, effektivt, frit.
After 7 hardcore hours around Melbourne without breaks Zülle gets tired.
In the evening, Iva, Rhod and I pack the picnic hamper and go down to Yarra Bend Park, a recreational area 200 m from the house with goodies for the palate and bird sounds.
