Day 637 – The Hippie Market

Catching up with the latest events in Camp WT...

I slept poorly last night. 1 mosquito, 1 toilet visit, 1 drinking visit at the same place, 30 degrees c heat in the night and some creative thoughts kept me awake for a couple of hours.

The cultural event of the day was the hippie market in St. Andrew’s, which is filled with reiko/shitsu/healing/herbal tea-loving people, who all look extremely alternative. It feels weird, all of a sudden, to walk around henna-hair, batik trouser, incense sticks and ethereal oils. There was a little “Little house in the prairie” all over. Love it!

Back at the house in Clifton Hill there is another Barbie night in the back garden. I’m the grill master for the evening.

The Barbie King for the night...

We all go into the city at midnight and have a lovely, but quite expensive, night out. At the bar “The Croft Institute”, as the good gentleman he is, Rhod tries to hook me up with a blind girl and her guide dog. It truly amuses me. The girl is nice, but her eyes keep glancing around in her head, like two randomly rotating radars, and this keeps ruining my concentration.

Comment of the Night: The stallions are unleashed for tonight! Rhod to Christy and I (the lonely singletons), when we’re on our way into town…

Thanks to Anne S. Jensen for the translation!

    On this day..
