New Photo Album From Easter Island

    La Fiesta continues…

I spent 8 days on Easter Island/Rapa Nui (from 31JUL08) and cycled a mere 107 km on the 166 sq km little island.

I loved the island’s remoteness, village feeling, mild climate, my Rapa Nui mama Anna Julia who took care of me during my entire stay, and yes, those stone figures are quite amazing – even after 850 days on the road.

    I took 565 photos, 55 of which I’ve put in an album…

      Hi Nicolai,

Okay, meat (or carcass) in a pick up truck, man with a saw…a little frightening! Ya gotta love travel–we just don’t see things like that back home. 🙂

      Hi Asep…

Yeah, Tasikmalaya seems so far away. What a year it’s been.

I watched my photos from Java the other day on my laptop and wow, so many great memories from that incredible island. One of my favorite islands overall…

Say hi to your family, Asep!

      Hi Lisa…

A little frightening, yes, but around here things like selling meat from your pick-up truck seems like the most normal, sane thing to do.

And, Lisa, by now I thought you would’ve become quite used to sights like these in WT World, huh? 😉

      Love, Nicolai
