    Day 1.197 – Central Park & Harlem

    New York City Subway...

The thought of a chilled Sunday in Central Park sounds like the right thing to me today.

Central Park, New York. July 2009.

If you were interested in advanced nose studies, New York would be the obvious arena for the perfect field work. They come in all varieties here in New York, from the enormous, eagle-y Caucasian, to the Tyson-flat Afro-American, to slim and elegant (and perfectly powdered), black, yellow, white, vulture and mouse models, Asian, African, American, you name it. New York has it all, also in the world of noses.

Amazingly, I meet up with Sara (and her friend Emilie, Montreal) again today, totally random in the center of Central Park. Hard not to believe in destiny, fate, chance and Jesus these days.

I continue my long walk up to Harlem and East Harlem, an area that apparently was a big no-go just a decade or so ago, but things keep changing in this metropolis, and I feel safe as ever as I walk the streets of Harlem. Am slightly disappointed by the lack of action in the back streets this afternoon (said the photographer in me).

Total distance walked today: Ca. 30 km.

(Don’t worry about all that talk about noses. Was a bit hungover today).

    On this day..
