The end of the road…(sort of)

It’s been 400 days, 15.000 km and 13 days since I crossed the Strait of Bosporus in Istanbul last year and entered Asia. I’ve now come to the end of the road, so to speak, here in Johor Baru, Malaysia. This is where the Asian mainland ends and for sure it will be a great moment for me when I cross the 1038 m causeway to Singapore this afternoon. As always, it’s hard for me not to get emotional when I pass milestones like these.

From Singapore I plan on going to the Indonesian island Bintan just due south of Singapore. From Bintan I’ll take the ferry to Java, then Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Komodo, Flores and Timor. From Timor I’ll try and get a ride on a yacht, a boat, a ferry, a raft, a refugee float or any other maritime vessel that’ll bring me to Darwin, Australia.

Thanks for still dropping by. I’ve been busy cycling, internet is not as widespread here in Malaysia as expected and lately I’ve had a blast on the beautiful Tioman Island with a bunch of great international people that kept me busy…

I’ll be back very soon, from Singapore! Yihaa – so excited about that…

    Cheers, Nicolai

    On this day..

      Hi Nicolai,

      Hej Esben…

Tak for indlægget!

      Hi Iv…

Thanks for your kind comment. I’m in Singapore right now (Hougang) staying with a host family through Hospitality Club. All is fine.

Please drop me your email so that I can get in touch. OK?

      Are you still in Singapore?

    6. Fjumse Says:

      Hi Iv…

Indeed I am! It’s not easy to leave a food heaven like Singapore, you know. Have been pretty busy doing my visa stuff for Indonesia and Australia etc.

Maybe we can meet up in this coming weekend?

      Keep in touch, Iv!

      Nicolai

    9. Fjumse Says:

      Hi Iv…

Maybe we’ll incidentally meet at the Indonesian embassy then. I’ll pick up my visa on Friday around 3 PM. If not, I’ve got your number. Thanks!
