Help: Name For My Publishing Company?
I’ve decided to publish my first book (about my RTW journey, naturally) myself. It’s nearly there now and I’m really excited about it all. I need to find a name for “my own” publishing company (sounds fancier than it is. Basically it’s just a formality publishing your own books in your “own” publishing company name. Just need to find somewhere to print the book, to cut it short).
At some point, I might want to publish other books that aren’t necessarily bike related (photo books, e.g), which is why I’m looking for a kind of generic name, less specific and bike-focused than, say, “Bike Adventures Press”…
Can you help me come up with a cool/great/right name?
I’ve been thinking about these names and would love your comments/feedback:
1. Roaming Mind Press
2. Roaming Gypsy Press
3. Roaming Pilgrim Press
4. Roaming Jailbird Press
5. Blind Gypsy Press
6. Ecstatic Thief Press
7. Global Gypsy Press

9. Global Eyes Press
10. Global Nomad Books/Press
11. Global Thief Press
12. Global Avenue Press
13. Exposed Nomad Press
14. Exposed Gypsy Press
15. OpenEyes Press
16. VacantVillain Press
17. Twisted Gypsy Press
18. Twisted Avenues Press
19. Twisted Nomad Press
20. Twisted Vision Press

26. Global Village Press
27. Terra Maravilhosa Press
28. Global Voyage Press

Thanks in advance for your 2P. Put it below or drop me a PM at nb@worldtravellers.dk.

The only thing I’d say is avoid anything with “thief”, “jailbird”, “villain”, or “escapist” in the name. Customers will think you’re scamming them, even if you aren’t, just from a name like this.
Nomad, Gypsy, all that sounds great! Use only positive words in your name, things that people associate with sunshine and freedom. Good luck!

I like “global eyes press” or “open eyes press” the best!

Why not “worldtravellers’ books”?

Hvornår regner du med at bogen kommer ud Nicolai? Er den dansk eller engelsk? Glæder mig vildt til at læse den!
I øvrigt bryder jeg mig mest om Global Mind Books.

If it is for worldtravellers (you) books then I would go for worldtraveller publishing.
there are many global cyclists today and if your publish company could help them all to publish their works then I would go for global mind books or something else that gives associations for global, cultures, expeditions, cycle etc. Somewhere you gave us your idea of why cycle round the world. That goes for many others and could be a program description of your publiing company.

I like Roaming Mind and something with Turnpike (but not sure about Twisted). Also wonder whether Worldtravellers Press might work?
I think some of the ‘Global’ ones sound a little generic? Maybe it’s just ‘Global Village’ that’s giving me that impression though.

Hi Carolyne…
Thanks for your 2P. Worldtravellers Press actually turned out to draw the long straw here. It was definitely the most obvious one, yet I didn’t really think about it until some recommended it to me. Just received my first 10 ISBN numbers, so I’m ready for publishing.
The “Global Village” one is a rip-off from a great hostel in Greymouth, New Zealand, Sth Isl. I see what you mean ’bout the “too generic” stuff. Thanks!

Mejer: Bogen bliver i første omgang på dansk. Jeg regner med at have den klar inden foråret i år. Spred endelig rygtet!
Tak for indspark!
